Terms and conditions

Welcome to Online Telecom Shop (“Online Telecom Shop”), your online platform for the purchase and subscription to products & services of Mauritius Telecom and its subsidiaries (“MT”) listed on the website at the indicated price.

Please read these conditions mentioned below carefully before using the Online Telecom Shop portal. By using the Online Telecom Shop portal, you signify your agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).

1.0 Registration

1.1 Prior to any online purchase on Online Telecom Shop portal, you will need to provide us with your personal details which will be treated as strictly confidential.

1.2 You must be at least 18 years old to register to the Online Telecom Shop portal.

1.3 Please ensure that the details you provide are correct and complete to avoid any delays in purchase or subscription. Kindly inform us immediately of any changes in the information provided at registration.

1.4 You agree and acknowledge that you will use your account on the Online Telecom Shop portal to purchase products or subscribe to services only.

1.5 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your order and for restricting access to your computer and/or mobile device to prevent unauthorised access to your account. You shall be solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account and password. You should take all necessary steps to ensure that the password is kept confidential and secure and should inform us immediately if you have any reason to believe that your password has become known to anyone else, or if the password is being, or is likely to be, used in an unauthorised manner.

1.6 You may contact our hotline service on 8900 for mobile services, 8902 for home services and 8919 or business services for any query.

2.0 Products and Services

2.1 The device instalment plan allows you the flexibility to pay for your smartphone or device in monthly instalments depending on the value of device.

2.2 Eligibility for a device instalment plan will be subject to the following:

2.2.1 You are the owner of a fixed line for the past 6 consecutive months at Mauritius Telecom,

2.2.2 You have an excellent credit history and subject to the approval of the credit facility internally.

2.3 We also reserve the right not to approve the Device Instalment plan without giving any reason thereof.

2.4 The device instalment plan allows you to pay for your smartphone or device in monthly instalments depending on the value of device.

2.5 If you cancel your fixed line service before the end of the instalment term, you must pay all the remaining outstanding monthly instalments and may no longer be entitled to the device instalment plan

 2.6 The monthly instalments will appear on the invoice you receive from us each month, and you must pay by the due date of the invoice.

2.7 MT is not the manufacturer of the device and is not responsible if the device does not work or is faulty. The standard manufacturer warranties will apply.


2.8 Products and services displayed on the portal are subject to availability and stock.  In such circumstances, you agree and acknowledge that MT shall not be liable in the event the product is substituted other than the advertised one but of same value, quality and performance upon collection and/or delivery.

2.9 The images of the products on this site are for illustrative purposes only and may vary slightly from the actual products.

2.10 In the unlikely event that the price shown on the checkout page is wrong, we are not required to sell the products to you at the price shown. We always try and ensure that the prices of products shown on our website are accurate, but occasionally genuine errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of the products that you have ordered we will let you know as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it.

Provisioning of services

2.11 As far as possible, we shall provision the services you have applied in the least possible delay. However, there may be delays in provisioning of services which is beyond our control. 

3.0 Order and Payment

3.1 Any order confirmation received on the Online Telecom Shop portal will be processed accordingly.

3.2 In the event your order cannot be processed for any reasons whatsoever, you will be notified accordingly.

3.3 Once an order is confirmed, same cannot be amended, modified or cancelled.

3.4 Once your order has been successfully processed you are bound by the specific terms and conditions governing the products and/or services you have selected. (For more details see clause 11 below)

3.5 Payment on Online Telecom Shop portal is by my.t money or credit card or via your MT bill and/or any such applicable payment methods we may make available.

4.0 Delivery

4.1 We will endeavour to deliver the products within the delivery period that applies to the option you have chosen. You may collect your order at MT’s designated pick-up points. Any applicable delivery charges will may displayed on the portal at time of payment.

4.2 MT will contact you to confirm your details prior to delivery of products and will also advise on delivery day, date and time (“Agreed Delivery Time”).

4.3 In the event that you are not available on the Agree Delivery Time, an additional delivery charge may be applicable for subsequent delivery and payable to MT by you upon delivery.

4.4 Upon delivery of the product to you and in the presence of Mauritius Telecom’s delivery agent, you are required to produce your National Identity Card (NID), and/or any other identification document for verification of identity and inspect the Product to verify that the Product is complete with the necessary accessories, does not have any cosmetic defects and is capable of its basic functionality, failing which, you must reject the Product immediately. Once accepted, Mauritius Telecom shall not in any way be accountable or responsible for any defects.

4.5 Delivery Services is only applicable in the territory of Mauritius.

5.0 Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage:

– where there is no breach of a legal duty owed to you by us or by our employees or agents;

– where such loss or damage is not reasonably foreseeable to us when we accept your order; or

– to the extent that any increase in loss or damage results from breach by you of any term of the contract.

6.0 Disclaimer

You acknowledge and undertake that you are accessing the services on the website and transacting at your own risk and are using your best and prudent judgment before entering into any transactions through the Online Telecom Shop portal.

We further expressly disclaim any warranties or representations (express or implied) in respect of quality, price, suitability, accuracy, reliability, completeness, timeliness, performance, safety, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or legality of the products and services listed or displayed or transacted or the content (including product or pricing information and/or specifications) on the Online Telecom Shop portal.

7.0 Amendments

We reserve the right to make changes to our Online Telecom Shop portal and the Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be subject to the policies and Terms and Conditions in force at the time that you use the website, unless any change to those policies or these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you). If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.

8.0 Events beyond our reasonable control

We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these terms and conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond our reasonable control.

9.0 Privacy

Please review our Privacy Notice published on our website ( The personal information / data provided to us by you will be treated as strictly confidential and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

10.0 Governing law

These conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mauritius.
